1. What is this item about?
2. Why did you choose it?
3. Do you agree with what's happening in the news item you chose? Why or why not?
4. Do you think the information has been presented fairly? Why or why not?
5. Would you use this news source again?

1.)A recent study by advocacy group Families USA, states that one reason why healthcare is so expensive is because of a "hidden tax" we all pay. Because the way our healthcare is setup, we are paying money for our own healthcare, as well as other people's care.
2.) i chose this article because i found this information interesting. Why are we paying for other peoples healthcare?
3.)I dont agree with whats happening because we should only pay for our own health, not others. Hopefully this problem is fixed whenever our healthcare system is reformed(supposedly in the near future)
4.) The information is presented fairly, though i wouldve liked for them to tell more about the study.
5.) Yahoo continues to do a good job with providing news, i would definately use this source again.

  1. James, I agree that Yahoo! is in general a good source, and I agree, too, that this article was a little difficult. Should have explained the study better. Essentially, what's happening is people who are uninsured wait until they're really sick to get care, they can't pay it all, and hospitals make up the losses by charging insurance companies more. Then the insurance companies pass the cost on to us. System sucks, but your post doesn't. :)
